|The Board of Directors of Plutonic Power Corporation (PCC-TSXV) is pleased to announce that Plutonic Power has engaged Doug Bishop of Bishop Energy Corp. to assist Plutonic Power in developing its run of river hydro-electric power projects. Mr. Bishop will assist Plutonic in transmission/interconnection issues, energy sales contracts and in the identification of future opportunities in the green energy sector.
Mr. Bishop became an independent energy consultant in 2002 following a 32-year career with the BC Hydro group of companies. His career encompassed many facets of electrical utility operations, including protection and control, system operations, demand side management (Power Smart) and utility trade operations (Powerex).
"I am extremely enthusiastic about Plutonic's projects and would not have joined the Plutonic team had I not felt that these projects were superb British Columbian energy development opportunities" stated Mr. Bishop. "Several of the projects are unique in that they can provide winter capacity and energy."
Plutonic Power is an emerging green energy producer in British Columbia. Its proposed 15 projects have a design capacity of over 800 MW and the potential to generate approximately 2,800 GW.h per annum of green energy, enough energy to meet the annual energy needs of a city seven times the size of New Westminster or 280,000 homes. Included in the 15 projects is the creation of a Green Power Corridor, an area that holds the potential to leap-frog British Columbia to the forefront of green energy generation in North America. Completion of the Green Power Corridor, at an estimated capital cost of over $1 billion, would be through the largest private-sector investment ever made in the green energy sector in British Columbia and would create over 1200 man-years of employment.
